Tamago - Making a Japanese omelette

Updated: Jan 22

Well, you can say it's an omelette or you can call it a rectangular egg layer. It's overall easy and so good to eat.

All you need is a few ingredients to make it taste as they make it in Japan. A small rectangular egg cooking pan. I found it in a thrift store but easy enough to find online or in Asain supermarket.

Ingredients are as follows:

2 eggs, 1 teaspoon of sake, sugar, dashi, and water mixed with the eggs.

Oil the pan just enough to cover the bottom and heat to medium-hot. Add the egg a little egg mixture till covered. Flip a little at a time and push till the end of the pan.

Add some more and cook it all until it's a nice little square.

Cut up to bite-size pieces and add some soy sauce and enjoy.

Watch the video to show you how I did it.
